I don't have any particular ailment, but between an overly sedentary lifestyle and everyday stress and demands, I find myself sometimes knotted up and grumpy. A good, or even great, massage therapist could help somewhat, but there's no one like Joelle. Not only does she have perfect technique and extensive knowledge of human anatomy and energy pathways, but she also has unparalleled sensitivity and, let's say it frankly, healing capacities, that always leave me marveled ... and grateful. She is a marvelous person, with a heart of gold to match those wonderful hands of hers, and a smile that warms you up to the core. You go in a knotted mess, you come out feeling like a well-oiled engine, ready to conquer the world, after having been truly cared for. Run to her! You will be very happy you did.
I've been to see Joelle twice now, and each time walk away feeling considerably better and happy. Joelle uses many approaches -- her intuition and many years of experience allows her to really focus on what needs attention using whatever technique is best. She is warm and kind, and I feel lucky to receive a massage from someone who truly loves what they do. She is a knowledgeable and amazing therapist.
I developed piriformis muscles syndrome which caused severe pain. Physical therapy did not help, and a physiatrist suggested I try Shiatsu. After an extensive discussion of my problem followed by an hour of massage, I was amazed to feel complete relief from this pain that had nagged me for weeks. The treatment was done with clothing on, and the use of fingertips and palms, rather than the forceful kneading of muscles one associates with massage. I would particularly recommend Joëlle for work with older adults like myself. She takes time to explore with the patient what may be wrong, what results we hope for, and works on the body with care and gentleness.
Joëlle is the by far the best massage therapist I've even been to. I remember leaving my first appointment with her and thinking "oh my goodness, I feel like I'm standing so much straighter." I've never felt such immediate results from a massage in my life. She takes her time to get to know you, and understand what's going on with you body. She's helped me get over chronic pain from arthritis, which has allowed me to pursue my hobbies (hiking, biking, yoga) again. On top of that she is very kind and accommodating. I always look forward to my monthly appointment with her.
Joelle is amazing. She applies different styles of touch, pressure and massage techniques depending on what I ask her to work on. I have had a bad back for thirty years and she is the first healer who has truly helped me. She is also a kind quiet caring individual who creates an atmosphere truly conducive to relaxation. I first met Joelle when she came to our business to provide brief massage sessions. I later went for to her for an hour and she performed wonders. I can't recommend her enough.
Joelle's setup is simple, just a massage table in a small room. You will not find a sauna, aromatherapy, complimentary tea, or hooting flute music. But if you truly like massage and tapping into your body, rather than the full-on spa experience, I cannot recommend her highly enough.
